We are honoured to welcome Dr Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, as our distinguished speaker at the next Irish Business Network Geneva Chapter event!

On Friday, 2 May 2025 at 18:45, Dr Ryan will share his frontline experiences managing global health crises and offer reflections on the future of public health in an evolving geopolitical landscape. This special evening will also be dedicated to the memory of Aidan O’Leary, former WHO Director of the Polio Eradication Programme and supporter of IBN, who sadly passed away in August 2024.

It was a great honour for Ambassador McGarry to provide opening remarks at the Irish Business Network, Switzerland's event in Geneva on Friday with distinguished speaker Dr Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization Emergencies Programme.

I was honoured to have the privilege to moderate an event for the Irish Business Network, Switzerland, with Dr Mike Ryan, Executive Director of the World Health Organization Health Emergencies Programme, as our distinguished speaker.

In addition to sharing his insights with us on the current geopolitical context and on some of the biggest public health challenges that we are likely to have to face in the future, Mike paid a very personal and touching tribute to Aidan O'Leary, former director of WHO’s Polio Eradication Programme, who passed away suddenly on 6 August 2024.
